If you watched the "Sweet vs. Dry" video on my youtube channel (Michael Geary), and want to know more about the wines I chose, look below.

If you haven't watched the video yet, watch it here first, then come back. I go over the key differences between a sweet and dry wine.

Here is the sweet (like liquid candy) wine:

Moscato d'Asti Cascinetta 2017

Winery: Vietti

From: Barolo, Italy

Grape: Moscato Bianco

Vintage (Year): 2017

Ratings: 92 points - Vinous

Price: $14-17

Winemaker's Notes: Pale sunshine yellow color and slight frizzante, this Moscato d’Asti has intense aromas of peaches, rose petals and ginger. On the palate, it is delicately sweet and sparkling with balanced acidity, good complexity and a finish of fresh apricots.

Great as an aperitif, or a perfect accompaniment to Pan-Asian cuisine and lobster as well as pastry, fruit-based and creamy desserts and blue cheeses.

Here is the dry wine:

Bourgogne Chardonnay 2016

Winery: Paul Pernot

From: Bourgogne (Burgundy), France

Grape: Chardonnay

Vintage (Year): 2016

Ratings: 88 points - Wine Searcher

Price: $23-28

Winemaker's Notes: Clean, melon and citrus fruit with snappy young acidity and a touch of softening oak round out this lovely little wine. It's stylistically very pure and expressive of fruit.

If you watched the "Tannins vs. Acidity" video on my youtube channel (Michael Geary), and want to more know about the wines I chose, look below.

If you haven't watched the video yet, watch it here first, then come back. I go over the key differences between tannins and acidity.

Here is the high tannin (like a slap in the mouth) wine:

Caparazo, Rosso di Montalcino

Winery: Caparazo

From: Rosso di Montalcino, Tuscany, Italy

Grape: 100% Sangiovese

Vintage (Year): 2016

Ratings: 90 points - Wine Spectator

Price: $18-25

Winemaker's Notes: Intense Ruby Red. Its bouquet is full and persistent, reminiscent of violets, raspberry, and pomegranate. On the palate it is warm, dry, generous and well balanced.

Here is the saliva inducing, high acid wine:

Bouchard Père & Fils, Reserve Bourgogne

Winery: Bouchard Pére & Fils

From: Bourgogne (Burgundy), France

Grape: Pinot Noir

Vintage (Year): 2016

Ratings: Vivino - 3.6 of 5

Price: $18-22

Winemaker's Notes: Intense color. Very aromatic bouquet of small ripe red fruits (cherry, raspberry, currant). Beautiful flesh in the mouth, a delicious marriage where tannins and fruits are pleasantly mixed.

Pair with: roasts, poultry, meat pies, medium-flavored cheeses.

Father's Day is coming up. I hate to break it to you, but Dad doesn't want a tie. I'm serious. He loves you. But there's some things men do better on their own, and buying clothes is one of them.

Here are four gifts that he will like, and better yet use. And is there a better feeling then seeing Dad use your gift while your siblings gifts collects dust?

I really like the camo pattern. It's a vintage design, and makes me feel like I should be in a duck blind.

The days of chords are numbered. I think all of the dads out there would agree.

Again, the days of chords are numbered...

A designated place for Dad's keys, loose change, tums, chapstick, golf tees, etc...
