Sicilian wine is my "it" wine right now. I'm pushing it on everyone I know because what you get flavor-wise compared to the price is incredible, particularly bottles made with the Nero d'Avola grape. Flavors include black and blue fruit matched with a full body and solid tannins, similar to Cabernet Sauvignon. Some of these Sicilian bottles keep up with and even outperform Napa Valley cabs that can cost twice as much. If you want to load up on daily drinkers to get you through winter, put the wine retailers on notice and grab a mixed case of Sicilian wines. It's almost like we're stealing it...almost.
